StEPS (Standard Economic Processing System) is a processing system that was developed by the U.S. Census Bureau to provide integrated tools for the processing of survey steps. In addition to its editing and imputation functions, it includes a module to control the collection of information, a data review and on-line correction module, an estimation and variance calculation module, and a tabulation and disclosure module. A more complete description of its editing and imputation functionality is available in the StEPS evaluation page, on this site.
