(United Nations and Economic Commission for Europe, Conference of European Statisticians, Methodological Material)
Alternative name: Recommendations on Formats Relevant to the Downloading of Statistical Data from the Internet
Valid: From August 2001
Description:
The aim of these recommendations is to help national statistical organisations to choose the formats for making statistical data available on Internet. They give more detailed recommendations for statistical data and metadata formats to be used on Internet following the principles outlined in the Guidelines for Statistical Data and Metadata on the Internet (published in 2000]. The recommendations do not make any reference to the formats used in the standards for Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX). The reason is that this publication was prepared before SDMX (version 1) was finalized.
Intended use:
These recommendations are intended for national statistical organisations and other national and international bodies disseminating statistics. The target audience is statistical metadata system designers and IT experts.
Maintenance organization: The body responsible for maintaining the Guidelines is the UNECE Statistical Division.
